Police in Nausori have given the all clear to residents living in Nausori to use the Vuci South, Waituri and Waila feeder roads as flood waters have gone down.

With heavy rain experienced yesterday and late into the evening, Police closed these areas off to all traffic as the approaches to these crossings were washed away.

Meanwhile, the Naqali Bridge was opened last night as waters were slowing receding.

Nadi Weather office Director Rajendra Prasad said a trough of low pressure is lying over Northern parts of the country which is expected to bring in heavier rainfall later today.

He said this may cause flash flooding in Navua, Suva and Nausori, Eastern parts of Vitilevu, Labasa, Savusavu and the Lomaiviti group. Similar weather is expected in the Western Division from early next week.

People living in low lying areas are urged to take precautions.
