All calm at ACS camp ahead of Coke games
As the girls from Sawani wrapped up their preparation yesterday, 2003 SPG Sprint King and assistant coach John Lum Kon, said the girls are in top shape to defend their title.
Lum Kon did not rule out any upsets but believes they can go down again in the history books by becoming the first school to win their 9th title in a row.
Meanwhile this afternoon, Wainimakutu Junior Secondary received a timely boost today from Telecom Fiji Limited for the Coca Cola Games.
They received track suites, T-shirts, cash for two days and a tent to shelter the atheletes at the stadium.
The School from Namosi, will have 20 athletes competing at the two day meet, although coming to Suva Zone One earlier this month they had borrowed vests, shorts and track shoes from other school students.
Wainimakutu Junior Secondary's top gold medal prospect is Mesake Lawaki in the senior division. Lawaki is aiming for two gold medals in the 100 and 400 metres. He won three gold medals at Suva Zone One meet and was also named the top male athlete.
The Official opening of the Coca Cola games gets underway at 8am followed by the lighting of the caldron before the games proper gets underway at the TFL stadium.
