All boats need to be OHS compliant before they can be declared seaworthy.

This is the official stand of the Ministry of Work and Transport irregardless of which company is operating and how far they are running.

Sainiana Waqanabete of the Ministry said that during their meeting they have informed the owners of the vessel, Sandy that they will have to go back and get their boat re-surveyed to meet the FIMSA standards.

Speaking to Fijivillage, Waqanabete said the Ministry was informed that before the boat left harbor they had been informed that they had not met two levels of seaworthiness which the boat owners had not addressed.
