All Blacks win toss to play in black
All Blacks won the toss to choose the color it wants.
Historically, shirt colour never used to be an issue between the two countries with France wearing navy blue and New Zealand black.
But the decision of France’s USA based kit suppliers Nike to develop a darker blue shirt for the 2007 Rugby World Cup caused problems ahead of a quarter final clash against New Zealand in Cardiff.
Eventually, after much debate, France played in blue and New Zealand an unfamiliar grey in a dramatic match the French won 20-18.
Traditionally in rugby, unlike football, if there was a clash of colours between the two teams it was the home side that would change.
Meanwhile, the brutal physical battle between the All Blacks and the Wallabies in the semi-final has been seen as one of the bloodiest games in rugby history.
Speaking to Fijivillage from Auckland, One News sports Presenter, Peter Williams said players were lucky to escape serious injuries.
The All Blacks will play France on Sunday at 9pm in the RWC final and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti-FM with Malakai Veisamasama and Ilivasi Tabua.
At 7.30pm Friday, the Wallabies play Wales in the bronze playoff.
