All Blacks captain Richie McCaw would have been rested if New Zealand was playing this weekend.

McCaw has played every minute of all seven All Blacks matches this year and his body took another battering in the weekend’s win over the Springboks.

However, the Rugby Championship draw has been kind to the All Blacks with Steve Hansen’s side getting a week off before their match against Argentina at the end of this month.

Number eight Kieran Read said there are some injuries in the squad and he does not want too much rotation in the side and is happy they have the week off to recover.

The Rugby Championship will be on a one week break before it resumes next Sunday where South Africa will host the Wallabies and New Zealand face Argentina.
