All Blacks blindside flanker Liam Messam and hooker Dane Coles will both start in Saturday's Rugby Championship match against South Africa in Auckland.
Messam returns following a hamstring strain, as the All Blacks expect a tough encounter at the breakdown against the Springboks.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen said the 29 year old's experience had swung selection in his favour to help combat a massive Springboks loose forward.
Coles has also been brought in to the starting side in place of Andrew Hore.
Number eight Kieran Read will captain the side.
The All Blacks will host the Springboks at 7.35pm Saturday while the Wallabies will face Argentina at 10.05pm.
