All Blacks legend Colin Meads has backed New Zealand and Wales to win their World Cup semifinals and set up a dream final at Eden Park.

Meads, voted the greatest player in his country’s history, will be in Auckland to watch both semis.

Meads recognizes the danger posed by Australia, but believes the hosts will prevail over their great rivals despite missing star flyhalf Dan Carter, his understudy Colin Slade and fullback Mils Muliaina.

He added that the All Blacks have got to learn to relax and to put their top game out on Sunday, because if they don’t put it all out, they’ll come off second.

Meanwhile the 75 year old said that the All Blacks have got the edge, all teams have had their own problems, all teams have had injuries, what will count on the day is how the teams cover for the injuries.

The first semifinal at 8pm Saturday will see France meet Wales and at 8pm Sunday the All Blacks meet the Wallabies and the live commentary of both matches can be heard on our sister station, Viti FM with Malakai Veisamasama and Ilivasi Tabua.
