The All Blacks have been forced to call in four players for injury cover ahead of Saturday night's Rugby Championship and Bledisloe Cup rematch with the Wallabies.

Tom Taylor, Colin Slade, Luke Whitelock and Brad Shields have been rushed to Wellington.

All Blacks first five eighths Beauden Barrett, Aaron Cruden and Dan Carter are all in doubt after suffering injuries.

Lock Luke Romano will undergo a scan this week to determine the extent of the groin injury which forced him off early in Sydney.

And with loose forward Liam Messam already nursing a hamstring injury that stopped him from travelling to Sydney, the All Blacks coaches are not taking any chances, with the uncapped pair of Whitelock and Shields coming into camp.

The All Blacks and Wallabies match kick off at 7.35pm this Saturday.
