All Blacks 7's coach, Sir Gordon Tietjens is confident he has the tools he needs in his kit, despite a poor start to the IRB World Series.

New Zealand is fourth after two tournaments, failing to make the semis on the Gold Coast and hammered by South Africa in Dubai.

But Tietjens remains calm about what lies ahead, with the top four at the end of the season automatically qualifying for the Rio Olympics.

Tietjens said he is confident in the players he has, and that others can step up to the mark if they have to come in.

New Zealand is fourth in the standings, but just one point behind third placed Australia.

Fiji leads the World Rugby Sevens Series standings with 39 points.

Meanwhile, the South Africa 7's kicks off this Saturday with Fiji taking on France at 9.30pm.

They will then face Canada at 12.45am Sunday before meeting Scotland at 6.26am Sunday.

The cup quarterfinals will start at 12.03am Monday, the semifinals will be held at 3.39am while the cup final will be played at 6.30am Monday.
