All Blacks Sevens coach Sir Gordon Tietjens said they can bounce back ahead of the South Africa Sevens this weekend after their humiliating defeat to the Digicel Fiji 7s side in Dubai yesterday.

Tietjens said they did not have much possession against Fiji and are looking forward to this weekend.

New Zealand is pooled with Wales, Portugal and USA in the South Africa 7s.

Meanwhile, FRU Acting CEO Dr Berlin Kafoa said this is a beginning of a journey for Fiji with Ben Ryan at the helm and the challenge now is consistency in South Africa this weekend.

Fiji will take on Australia at 11.28pm Saturday, France at 2.34am Sunday before facing Scotland at 6.14am Sunday.
