The Police Commissioner has today stressed that the investigations in relation to the Assistant Police Commissioner Crime, Nasir Ali is an internal matter and no details will be made public.
Commodore Esala Teleni said the proper procedures are being followed and he will wait for investigators to come back with an update.
Commodore Teleni said he will decide on the next step only after he receives a full report on the allegations levelled against Ali and the evidence gathered in relation to the case.
Deputy Police Commissioner Eroni Antonio seized Ali's vehicle because Ali refused to meet with him.
A senior police officer confirmed to Village news that Antonio requested a meeting with Nasir Ali to discuss the allegations of abuse of authority with issues like the detention of a special police constable at the Central Police Station, a complaint from a taxi driver and few other allegations levelled against him. However Ali refused to respond to Antonio's request.
