An inquest by the British Army has heard that Fijian British Army soldier Private Naivote Tuisavura died of alcohol poisoning after two days of binge drinking in which he celebrated Fiji winning a Rugby World Cup match against Canada last year.

The Telegraph reported that 24 year old Tuisavura passed out and died at his best friend’s house after drinking lager, 40% proof Fijian rum and kava.

The inquest in Salisbury, Wiltshire, this week heard that Tuisavura had consumed enough alcohol to put him six times over the drink drive limit and just half the amount he drank could have been fatal.
