These are the words of CWM Hospital Pediatrician Doctor Joseph Kado who revealed that four to eight percent of primary school students in Fiji suffer from Rheumatic heart disease.
He said this is an alarming figure in Fiji and early detection is possible.
He also said parents should take their child to the hospital if they complain of sore throats or any joint pains.
Yesterday, the Fiji Water Foundation donated thirty thousand dollars to the CWM hospital for their ongoing preventative screening work and training for rheumatic heart disease.
