Akapusi Qera will captain the Vodafone Flying Fijians side for the test matches next month.
This has been confirmed by coach John McKee.
McKee said Qera will lead the side and he hopes the former Suva Grammar School student will be available for the rest of the year.
McKee said current squad members should perform because there are other players who can take up their spot.
The local based players in the Flying Fijians training squad will march into camp next Monday before the overseas players join them a week later.
Fiji will play Italy on the 7th of next month at the ANZ Stadium before playing Tonga at Churchill park in the Pacific Nations Cup on the 14th.
They will then take on Samoa at the ANZ Stadium on the 21st before meeting Cook Islands a week later at Churchill park for the World Cup qualifier.
