The average fare yield of Fiji's international airline Air Pacific is relatively low.

These are the words of CEO and Managing Director John Campbell who said the market requires constant stimulation through special price offers and package rates hence the average fare yield being low.

However, Campbell adds at the moment the peak season is quite strong resulting in flight seat factors in the mid 70% range on the majority of routes.

Meanwhile, the airline is preparing to go head to head with new competition in the aviation industry, V Australia.

V Australia earlier released details to launch, daily Boeing 777 flight operations between Sydney and Nadi come December.

Campbell said they are aware of these plans adding they are currently working through a variety of options on competitive responses.

The Air Pacific CEO adds until planning is complete and they are ready to implement their competitive plans, then and only then will those options and decisions be made public.
