Air Pacific bookings have decreased for the first four months of 2009 compared to the period in 2008.

Fiji's international airline chief executive John Campbell said overall business is down around 25 percent on the same period last year, adding that this is broadly in line with the reduced level of visitor arrivals in the country.

Campbell said while they expect to see an increase in bookings from the devaluation, the response from customers will not be instantaneous and its effects can only be seen by mid-June.

He said it typically takes about two weeks for revised pricing to be processed through the various computer systems of tour operators and a few weeks after that before customers start booking and travelling.
