The General Manager of Fiji's Domestic Airline Company Pacific Sun is hopeful their second application to increase services to some areas around the country by the Air Transport Licensing Board will be granted soon.
General Manager Manoa Kamikamica said there is a demand for air services in some outer islands and other areas which they hope to start services once approval is granted.
He said their first application was turned down because there were objections from other parties.
Meanwhile, the Levuka Tourism Association said the lack of regular flights by the current suppliers of air services, is putting alot of pressure on tourism in the area.
General Secretary, John Milesi said there is a need for a regular air service and he hopes that Pacific Sun will be granted a license to service the route as this will benefit everyone.
The Transport Licencing Board is expected to comment later on Pacific Sun's application.
