The Taunovo Bay Resort and Spa opened its Airport near Pacific Harbour earlier this afternoon.
The Airfield has been reopened after more than a decade and it will provide fast access to the resort and the surrounding areas from the Nadi International Airport.
Chief Executive Officer of the Resort, Mitch Hagerman stressed during the opening that this initiative will create more employment opportunities.
Interim Foreign Affairs Minister, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau who was the Chief Guest at the ceremony thanked the resort for its commitment towards Fiji. He added that there is much more to come in future.
Resorts guests will be able to fly to Taunovo Bay in under 25 minutes and the service will initially be charter flights only with Pacific Sun airlines.
