National carrier Air Pacific's Boeing 747 aircraft sustained damages during cargo loading at Los Angeles International airport yesterday.

While confirming the incident, Managing Director and CEO Dave Pflieger said the B747 was declared inoperable when one of the aircrafts engines was hit by a cargo container.

He said their LA staff and engineers in Nadi reacted swiftly to investigate the damage and carry out urgent repair works.

Pflieger said the aircraft is now declared fit to fly after engineers worked around the clock to rectify the fault and will be operating as FJ811 bound for Nadi later today.

He said because of the incident in LA, their flights scheduled for Sydney today have been delayed and these flights have been rescheduled for later today.
