National airline Air Pacific has reduced its fuel surcharge from and to Fiji by $20 per flight.

Chief Executive Officer John Campbell said that after careful evaluation, they assessed that fuel prices have stabilized allowing the airline company to pass reductions to their customers.

He said the change takes effect from this Sunday which is a cut off up to 26% on current surcharges.

Campbell said that the fuel surcharges which were implemented in 2008 did not at any time recover more than 50% of the higher fuel costs paid by the company.

He said that the fuel price will be kept under close scrutiny to determine if and when further fuel surcharge reductions can be initiated.
