Fiji's international airline Air Pacific is planning to resume jet operated international flights in and out of Nausori airport from next month.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji gave the approval after Airports Fiji Limited completed necessary work to upgrade the airfield and airport to allow the Air Pacific 737-700 aircraft to operate safely into the airport.

Flights are expected to resume on the 2nd of July.

Air Pacific's Managing Director and CEO Dave Pflieger said Air Pacific is extremely pleased that they will be able to resume jet services into Nausori as he thanked the government, AFL and CAAFI for making it possible.

He confirmed the Air Pacific sales and reservation teams will commence selling the direct Suva to Auckland service today.

Pflieger said this service has always been popular for business and government travel as well as residents in the Suva and eastern part of Fiji who want to visit friends and relatives in New Zealand.

He further added that Suva-Auckland service will initially resume with a weekly Friday flight and the airline will add a second weekly flight at the same scheduled time on Mondays beginning in August.
