The Consumer Council of Fiji is calling on Air Pacific to further reduce its fares after significant reductions in fuel prices.

Council CEO Premila Kumar said Air Pacific has reduced its fuel surcharge by $20, but it still is not fair enough to local consumers.

Kumar added that the national carrier has failed to drop the fuel surcharge for domestic flights.

According to Council the reduction by $20 per flight is insignificant and provides no consolation for travelers to and from Fiji.

Air Pacific CEO John Campbell is expected to comment later.
