The Air Pacific Fiji Warriors rugby side, travels to Tonga this week with high hopes of maintaining their good record in the IRB Pacific Rugby Cup competition.

The Ifereimi Tawake coached side leads the competition after beating the Fiji Barbarians 47-8 in the opening match last weekend.

They now have five points.

Tawake said beating Tautahi Gold in Nuku'alofa is always tough but this time he has good players that can help the side reach the final.

Fiji Warriors and Fiji Barbarians have failed to reach the finals since the IRB Pacific Rugby Cup started in 2006.

In other Pacific Rugby Cup games over the weekend, Tau'uta Reds beat Savaii Samoa 15-14 and Upolu Samoa defeated the reigning champions Tautahi Gold 17-9.

Meanwhile, in round two games this weekend Upolu Samoa plays Tau'uta Reds at Apia Park, Fiji Barbarians take on Savaii Samoa at Churchill Park and Tautahi Gold host the Fiji Warriors.
