Being without work and a source of income for since late April has forced several staff members of Air Fiji to find employment elsewhere as the future of the airline company hangs in the balance.
A number of Air Fiji staff Fijivillage news spoke to say that they had not received any word from the airline company on what the future holds for them and they struggled to make ends meet without receiving any pay to support their family. They say they had no choice but to move on.
Transport Workers Union General Secretary Kamlesh Kumar confirms that while some have moved on majority of the Air Fiji workers remain unemployed.
The Tuvalu Transport Minister Taukeliona Finakaso earlier told Fijivillage news that the Board of Directors and major shareholders of Air Fiji will meet on June 13th to decide how to bail the company out of the doldrums and whether more funds will be pumped in to revive Air Fiji Limited.
