Air Fiji Chief Executive, Sialeni Vuetaki has expressed his disappointment at the stance taken by the Secretary of the Transport Workers Union in regards to their current situation together with other negative comments.
Vuetaki said that Cost of Living Adjustment has been granted to the staff with 3% in 2004 together with an increase in minimum salary from $4,523 to $7,000 without any Union input.
He states that Secretary for Transport Workers Union has misled his members into a strike ballot.
Meanwhile, Vuetaki is confident that the airline company will bounce back and resume operations from this weekend.
Sialeni Vuetaki told Fijivillage that their company is facing numerous difficulties but adds they will survive in the market.
