Police have today clarified that the woman who is positive of AIDS and is claiming that she was locked in the cell at the Savusavu Police station over the weekend is baseless.
Police Spokesperson, ASP Ulaiyasi Ravula has confirmed that the woman was taken to the Savusavu Police station after fears that the youths she was drinking with would retaliate after finding out that she was an AIDS patient.
Meanwhile, police are now trying to get tests done to determine whether the woman slept with the youths she was seen drinking with.
Savusavu Police have confirmed that the woman was in a farm house with a man and took her for questioning. The youths involved were taken to doctors for medical tests however the doctors have told police that the final result to confirm whether these youths have contracted HIV/AIDS will be known after 6 months.
