Former Finance Minister and GCC senator, Sir James Ah Koy is one of the top contenders to be the new Fiji High Commissioner to China.

Interim Foreign Affairs Minister, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau says Sir James is one of the people being considered. However the final decision will be made in the next few weeks.

Meanwhile the military's Land Force Commander, Colonel Pita Driti is likely to take up the High Commissioner's post in Malaysia later this month.

Ratu Epeli says they have nominated Colonel Driti's name to the Malaysian government and are now awaiting the final confirmation.

Both the Fiji High Commissioners to China, Jeremaia Waqanisau and Malaysia, Ratu Epeli Kanaimawi have been recalled by the interim government.

Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Bainimarama says those recalled will not be given any positions.
