The Agriculture Ministry has placed top priority in ensuring that food security is restored to all those affected by the flooding as soon as possible.

The Premanent Secretary for Agriculture, Doctor Richard Beyer said that it is important for the livelihoods of people affected around the country.

He said the Ministry will soon purchase and distribute planting materials and are appealing to all with seeding and seeds to contact the Ministry.

Dr Beyer adds that they have set the priority in terms of crops on Kumala which can be harvested just within three months after which comes cassava and dalo.
