This follows revelations by the Public Service Commission that the salary overpayment recovery process will result in civil servants affected, having around $2 to $80 deducted from their pay.
Public Employee's Union General Secretary Pita Delana said this is contrary to earlier discussions that were held between the union and the PSC.
Delana also said that the move is unfair on those that will be affected as they have been through a five percent paycut and with the new move, these workers will now be pushed further down the poverty line.
PSC permanent secretary Taina Tagicakibau in a statement revealed that the recovery process follows discrepancies in the payment of wages and will be done over a two year period so that they will be able to recover the overpayment of salaries dating back to 1991.
