Age is not a factor that will affect the Digicel Fiji 7s team ahead of the Australia 7s this weekend.
Assistant coach Eddy Waqa who is with the team in Australia said that with age comes experience which they will rely on in their first outing in the IRB Sevens.
Waqa said although most of his forwards are above 30 years of age, they know what is required in the top 7s competition.
The oldest player in the forwards is Senivalati Vunibola who is 39 years old, captain Setefano Cakau is 34 years old, Watisoni Votu at 33 years and Jimilai Nakaidawa is 26 years old.
The Fiji 7s team’s first match at the Australia 7s will be against Niue at 5.25pm this Friday.
Fiji will play Kenya at 8.31pm and the final pool match will be against New Zealand at 12.14am on Saturday.
