American consultant, Dr Caroline Cottom is calling for schools to implement the Seeds of Success training, which is currently part of the National Youth Service Scheme.

Dr Caroline Cottom said the current counseling program in schools - called "Positive Mental Attitude"- needs to be adjusted after a nationwide survey highlighted an increase in sexually transmitted diseases and child abuse cases.

Speaking from Koro, Cottom said this training program - called the "Seeds of Success" - makes youths rethink the basic values of the life where they are asked to answer truthfully a total of 12 issues ranging from day-to-day activities to how we treat others in community.

However, the Ministry of Education said they are open to new suggestions and if they see that it will benefit the students, they will adjust the curriculum.
