The administrator for the Suva and Lami Town Councils is hopeful that they would be able to collect the outstanding revenue within 6 months.
Administrator Vijendra Prakash said they are concerned with the rates owed to the council running into millions of dollars adding that rate payers need to be told about the progress and changes to be made.
He added that people need to change their behaviour towards littering.
