Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry is today calling on the Police Commissioner to seriously look into complaints that some police officers are being forced to attend prayer sessions as part of the Police Christian Crusade.
Chaudhry said some police officers from divisions outside Suva have informed the Labour Party about this issue and this matter needs to be resolved.
Chaudhry said police officers who are being forced by their superiors to be part of the crusade activities should take the matter up to Commissioner Esala Teleni.
Meanwhile, Interim Defence Minister Ratu Epeli Ganilau is satisfied with Teleni's explanation on why he called a meeting of his senior Indo-Fijian officers to warn them that they would be sacked if they are disloyal.
Ratu Epeli said it is understandable that Teleni was carrying out a meeting to put things into perspective as he is focusing on discipline and teamwork in the Fiji Police Force.
