Acting Prime Minister Ratu Epeli Nailatikau will be Chief Guest at the groundbreaking ceremony for the road upgrading in Nameka, Tailevu today.

The project is funded by the People's Republic of China and is worth $3.17 million. The road upgrade is expected to cover a distance of 36 kilometers running from Nukurua to Vatukarasa village.

Speaking to Village, village elder and former school teacher Ratu Vilikesa Vonolagi said that it was a Christmas present to them since they had urged the previous government to look into their plight.

Vonolagi said they have been using outboard motors, which cost them $60 from their village to Baulevu.
