A 33 year old acting head teacher of a school based in Bua charged with assault occasioning bodily harm appeared in Labasa court this afternoon.
It is alleged that on 19th March this year, Nilesh Chand assaulted a class six student after he enquired about a group of students making noise, and when he turned around he saw the student throwing punches in the air at him.
Chand allegedly assaulted the student with a stick, and a complaint was lodged after the boy told his father about the incident.
He pleaded guilty and in mitigation, Chand's lawyer told the court that he is married with two kids, looks after his parents and he has shown remorse for his actions.
The case has been adjourned till Friday.
