The acting Police Commissioner will start visiting all the police stations around the country starting this week.

Commissioner, Joeli Baleilevuka said he is still trying to familiarize himself with his new post and will be visiting the four regions to meet the senior officers who are managing the stations.

He said the Police Force is part of the Government, and maintaining safety and security is his priority adding that they will perform to the level expected by Government.

Commissioner Baleilevuka stressed that he met with his senior officers last Thursday and is aware of the requirements in line with the Police Act.

Meanwhile, Baleilevuka has suspended all church parades and other religious activities in the Fiji Police Force.

But the acting Commissioner said he will not be implementing a lot of corporate changes as he will only be holding the position temporarily until a new Commissioner is appointed by Government.

Speaking at his first press conference as the acting commissioner last Friday, Baleilevuka added all Community Policing crime prevention programs have been suspended in order for him to review the programs.
