Accused murderer granted bail
Jayant Lal along with Bharat Lal and Moreen Lata have been charged with the murder of Salesh Prakash last month appeared in the Suva High Court pleading not guilty to the charges.
Judge Justice Salesi Temo granted Jayant Lal a $2000 bail with his mother acting as an assurity and on the conditions that he has to report to Nasinu Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 6am to 6pm and placed a curfew on him from 6pm to 6am.
He was also ordered not to apply for a passport or go abroad.
The other accused Bharat Lal was not granted bail since his wife had earlier claimed that Lal had threatened to kill her when he came out of the custody.
She was not present in the court today to inform the court if the threat still exists for which Justice Temo adjourned the case till Monday and asked the State Prosecutors to bring Lal's wife to court on Monday.
Lal has been further remanded in custody.
The third accused Moreen Lata was granted bail on Wednesday and the three today pleaded not guilty to their charges.
The case has been adjourned till 31st August.
