Accountant sentenced to 6 years imprisonment
been sentenced to 6 years imprisonment after he was found guilty of two counts of unnatural offences with his wife.
Magistrate Alofa Seruvatu heard that on two separate occasions this year, the man forced his wife to engage in unnatural acts with him where she suffered forceful trauma.
The victim later complained to Police and explained what her husband did to her in September and October this year.
Magistrate Seruvatu after handing down the sentence told the accused that it was a blatant disregard for the pain suffered by his wife for 23 years and he must be handed a custodial sentence for this crime.
In another incident, a 21 year old trainee missionary is remanded in custody after he was charged with allegedly raping a 14 year old girl of Nasinu on the 5th of this month after a prayer session.
Police Prosecuter, Inspector Francis Simpson says the victim's father had forgiven the accused for what he did to his daughter and told the court they are related.
However Magistrate Alofa Seruvatu told the accused to look for a Counsel as this is a serious case and the father should be concerned about the damage done to the form two student.
The accused is remanded till 9.30am tomorrow.
