A 20 year old man has been transferred from Lautoka Hospital to CWM Hospital for further medical treatment this morning, after he received serious injuries in a road accident yesterday morning.
Divisional Traffic Officer Western, ASP Richard Raju confirms he was the passenger in the vehicle which was involved in a road accident at the Nadi Back Road, which claimed the life of the driver in his 30s.
Raju said the passenger received severe head injuries and needed urgent treatment.
He was travelling towards Lautoka at about 5am when the driver lost control of the car at a bend and hit the side of a 10 wheeler truck.
Raju said the post mortem of the deceased will be carried out on Monday as police investigations continue.
The deceased had recently won a car in a competition.
