Prisoners need the public to accept them.
That is the sentiment of the Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum while speaking at the launch of the Yellow Ribbon Awareness Program.
Sayed-Khaiyum said prisoners were undergoing rehabilitation which would only be successful if the public accept these reformed inmates back into society by giving them a second chance.
A total of 28 juvenile prisoners from Nasinu Prison performed at the Awareness programs and according to Sergeant Epineri Tuapati the group the youngest who is 16 years, the rehabilitation program sees the youngsters geared to be employed and hopefully accepted by society.
The awareness program is part of a build up to the official launching in October this year.
