A prominent Fijian Academic Dr Steven Ratuva has joined the University of Auckland, New Zealand, for a senior academic appointment.
Dr Ratuva was the Divisional Coordinator for Sociology at USP and one of the Pacific's leading political sociologists.
The head of school of Social Science at USP Dr Sandra Tarte said Dr Ratuva's departure is not a permanent loss to Fiji.
Dr Ratuva's new role at Auckland University will include teaching, researching and consulting on the Pacific political economy.
