The Ministry of Primary Industries has provided the Nasinu abattoir with hygienic equipment to deal with the culling of cattle infected from Brucellosis.
Spokesperson Jo Uluilakeba said this is to ensure the safety of abattoir staff.
Meanwhile, 30 infected cattle from a Wainivesi farm in the Tailevu North area were slaughtered yesterday and a further 60 have been transported to the Nasinu abattoir for culling tomorrow.
More than 300 cattle are expected to be slaughtered based on the latest test results.
According to farmers in the affected areas in Tailevu North, Brucellosis has the potential to fully cripple the dairy industry in the area.
