“We were confident all along that we will do it again.”

That’s the statement from Assemblies of God High School under 18 captain Malakai Vereivalu after creating history yesterday.

Vereivalu said they really concentrated throughout the game.


Assemblies of God defeated the defending zone champions Suva Grammar School 20-13 in the semifinal to book a place in the final for the first time and also a spot in one of the Deans quarter finals.

Meanwhile, Suva Grammar still has a chance to qualify for the Deans quarterfinals if they beat Marist Brothers High School in the third place playoffs next week.

Marist lost 23-20 to Nasinu Secondary School in extra time in another semifinal.

In the under 18 final next weekend AOG will meet Nasinu Secondary, Ratu Sukuna Memorial takes on Marist in the under 17.

In other results, in the under 17 grade Ratu Sukuna Memorial School beat John Wesley College 13-9 and Dudley High lost to Marist Brothers High School 24-3.

In the Under 16 grade Marist Brothers High School beat Laucala Bay Secondary 12 points to nil, Suva Grammar School defeated Ratu Sukuna Memorial School by 13 points to 6.

Looking at the under 15 grade, Marist brothers High School thrashed Dudley High 42-0 and Suva Grammar School beat John Wesley 15-10
 
In the under 14 grade, Suva Grammar School walloped Latter Day Saints 34-8 and Marist Brothers High School hammered Dudley high 27-0.
