ANZ today announced its sponsorship of the Lawn Bowls 2010 ANZ Pineapple Cup.

The Pineapple Cup Competition commenced in 1928 and is considered the most prestigious tournament in the local bowling scene.

Suva Bowling Club President, Vilisoni Vakatalai said that Lawn Bowls remains a minor sport in Fiji but it is one of the few sports that can successfully compete on the world stage.

The two-day tournament kicks off on Saturday, with 32 bowlers across Fiji and the winner walks away with $3,500 in prize money.
