One of the banking corporations, ANZ has come forward and made donations towards the relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Tomas.

Chief Executive Pacific Michael Rowland announced that they have made a donation of 50 thousand dollars to Red Cross Fiji and are also looking at other ways to provide assistance to their customers.

Rowland said they have over 25 thousand Rural Banking customers in Vanua Levu and Taveuni and majority of them have been severely affected by Hurricane Tomas.

Some of the assistance they are also looking at are waiving fees for their rural banking customers for the next month, interest only repayments for business and personal loans for up to three months, waiving fees for the replacement of EFTPOS and credit card terminals, as well as waiving early withdrawal costs for term deposits.
