The ANZ Bank has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer for the Pacific Central Region who will replace Robert Bell who will now be the Bank's CEO in Japan.

Normon Wilson who has 35 years of experience in Banking will be responsible for the bank and business in Fiji and the Pacific and will oversee more than 900 staff.

Normon will start his new job in October.

The ANZ Pacific CEO Craig Sims said that Robert Bell has contributed a lot to Fiji and the Pacific in the past three years.

He said Bell and his team have actively supported customers in a very difficult economic environment and have increased ANZ's focus on priority sectors such as tourism and small business to support customers in the rural areas with the convenience of mobile banking.
