ANZ Announces Growth Strategy
While making the announcement in Suva today, ANZ CEO for the Pacific Craig Sims said the growth means building their core strength in the region and bringing key decision making closer to the people.
Over the last two years, they have set up another 20 branches of ANZ in the Pacific and increased its Pacific workforce by 200 resulting in 2,000 people now working for ANZ in the Pacific.
When questioned by Fijivillage on the negative comments made by some about Fiji's economy due to political and economic uncertainties and some other countries, Sims said ANZ bank has been around in Fiji for 130 years and they know how to deal with issues that do arise and always have back up plans in place.
ANZ General Manager for Fiji Robert Bell who is also the Managing Director for Pacific Central Region said they have not slowed down and the growth will definitely continue.
For the first time ANZ brought all the 12 country centre representatives and leadership teams from the Pacific region together here in Suva to announce its Pacific growth strategy. Sims said this is due to the fact that ANZ has been in operation here for 130 years.
