The Permanent Secretary for Health, Dr. Lepani Waqatakirewa has revealed that a total of seven people contract HIV Aids monthly in Fiji.

Dr. Lepani speaking at the World Aids Day celebration at Suva's Sukuna Park this morning said 257 people have been infected at the end of last month.

Dr. Lepani added that there were 28 new cases since World Aids Day last year and highlighted that the cases were all from people below the age of 30.

Meanwhile, with regards to the celebration in Lautoka, Divisional Service Center Coordinator Fiji Red Cross, David Owens said a large number of people took part in their programs today
