The Auditor General's office will not be surcharging the military for busting its budget by $45 million in the 2007 Budget.

Auditor General Eroni Vatuloka said they will not be surcharging those that have been involved in the busting of the 2007 budget as the expenditures were approved by Cabinet.

Vatuloka said they have already completed the audit of the military's 2007 accounts and the reports are with the Interim Prime Minister.

This is after the Fiji Islands Council of Trade Unions General Secretary Attar Singh had called on the Auditor General's office to investigate and surcharge those ministries and people responsible for busting their budgets.

Military Spokesperson, Major Neumi Leweni stressed that there was nothing sinister about the RFMF busting its budget in 2007 adding that critics have had nothing positive to say.
