The Attorney General's chambers will seek the court's permission next week to appeal the ruling delivered by High Court Judge Justice Roger Coventry who ordered the state to pay Tupou Draunidalo $20,000 by 3pm on December 11th.
Solicitor General Christopher Pryde told Village News that they strongly dispute the amount set by the court.
Pryde also confirms that they will appeal certain conclusions reached by Justice Coventry who stated in his ruling that the Interim Attorney General acted irresponsibly in bringing proceedings of contempt of court against Draunidalo.
In his ruling, Justice Coventry states that it is startling the manner in which the case was brought without being given due consideration and then withdrawn, without giving clear reasons and he believes that these proceedings were commenced for an ulterior motive.
